About Us

 

Linda began making hats in 1989 after being inspired by a friend who had made one for her daughter. She took classes at Mertize Millinery, and then advanced private lessons from Carrie "Mother" Lockhart, both in Detroit. Howard learned the art by helping Linda prepare for a fashion show and they have been designing and making hats ever since!

Their hats have been featured in The Detroit News, Detroit Free Press, Michigan Chronicle, and on Kelly & Company, a morning talk show under the name Uniquely Yours Custom Millinery. Most recently they were featured in the Homestyle magazine of The Detroit News "Handmade" column.
